my mom's been sending me all the stories of peaceniks who went to iraq recently and came back broken and near-convinced of the justice of war... i believe 'em, but i also believe shane claiborne, who's telling a slightly different story and not getting heard as clearly. for example: "I did have a live interview on CBS this morning where they asked what I thought about America, and within the first minute they hung up on me. " anyway, if i'm correctly connecting together stories heard before from the same friend who sent me this link, the simple way, shane's organization, tends to frighten parents and enthuse youth groups by practicing a kind of radical, revolutionary christianity that resembles a little too closely the super-early pre-society-friendly church... hang out with homeless folks, anyone? powerful stuff...

mickey3d -- some french group. i was listening to rtl2, heard something interesting that wasn't yet a hit back in june... went to look up the lyrics to see if they were as interesting as the sound, but alas, EMI's interdit their posting. so i searched for the group. and i still don't understand their lyrics, but their page is great fun.

Sockman Calculator -- i wonder how on earth these people came by the statistic that people wear approximately 1.4 socks per day of life. after discovering that i've supposedly worn 5850 pairs in my lifetime, i felt i had to run some numbers, make sure they weren't stereotyping my lifestyle based on age. but nope, babes of six months apparently also wear .71 pairs of socks a day.
